Implementation Of School Core Values for Students
This is my first written article in participating the SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award in 2013. The theme was Values Education. The relevant Head of departments of the schools have given me some inputs data and evidences which I had to complied and post it. Not an easy task but this is the best I can do.
The implementation of School Core Values for Students in Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School includes:
1. Information to the school community: The Administrators, teachers, parents, staffs and students have been informed about the introduction of School Core Values during the Parents-teachers meeting, School Assembly, Staff contact times and Orientation for Year 7 students.
2. Academics The class and subject teachers will relate their lesson to the school core values especially in Malay Islamic Monarchy subject. They also reminded their students about the importance of School Core Values.
3. Co-Curriculum Activities (CCA) Since the introduction of School Core Values, the teachers and students members of the clubs are planning the yearly activities that could enrich the School Core values.
4. Through Counselling Activities, Talks and forum.
5. Organising events, school function by the students themselves.
6. Through Community service
7. Sharing of ideas between the Principal, school administrators and students.
8. Students’ participation in School, National and International level competition.
